Description

Incumbent will leverage understanding of cultural diversities and lead strategic regional outreach efforts to targeted underserved populations. This position affords an outstanding opportunity to positively impact enrollment of Potentially Eligible Persons (PEP) for federal benefits thereby improving the quality of life for an underserved population.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy on daily PantryTrak report, services log, poundage and gather vital client data that are essential for monthly reports such as agency report, KPI, daisy cares, and grants.
  • Lead PantryTrak client card distribution to client for pantry access.
  • Lead implementation of software for client facing programs that are being made available by FANO.
  • Lead Client intake, determine their eligibility and annually re-certify client to receive food assistance.
  • Lead general pantry inventory that will be commensurate to the number of families accessing pantry while practicing FIFO and ensure the quality of products being distributed.
  • Lead distribution of products that are subject to TEFAP audit and ensure proper documentation when is product disturbed to pantry clients.
  • Ensure daily total weight distributed in the pantry is recorded in CERES
  • Order pantry products through agency Express and ensure a good inventory of pantry products
  • Ensure proper record keeping of the products receive from the Amazon pilot program and document the name of the client, date of pick-up, type of product and the number of households.
  • Ensure that cooler and freezer temperature log is updated daily.
  • Compile, analyze and present client data that are essential for visualizing trends, forecasting client needs, and develop strategies to address food insecurity.
  • Train and manage Apple Corps and regular pantry volunteers on giving clients utmost customer service.
  • Facilitate and manage Apple Corps pantry volunteer’s Civil rights training to ensure compliance with TEFAP guideline.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification, operate the forklift and pallet jack as necessary to complete job responsibilities
  • Work toward strategic plan goals of helping food insecure clients gain improved access to services and food.
  • Cultivate positive relations with program participants, community partners, agencies, volunteers and other constituents.
  • Assist local community partners to assess and develop strategies to improve their access to nutritious food.
  • Enhance cooperation between local agencies and improve services to families through ensuring greater access to New Braunfels Food Bank programs
  • Represent the New Braunfels Food Bank at meetings as needed
  • Ability to answer questions regarding all NBFB and Federals programs with confidence and accuracy
  • Maintain all assigned goals
  • Availability to work necessary hours to complete all expectations.
  • Availability after 5 p.m. and weekends, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Must have valid driver license, insurance and reliable transportation
  • Experience and commitment to working with diverse and low-income populations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record to meet insurance eligibility requirements
  • Able to work on weekends and holidays
  • Must have a flexible work schedule
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. 

Additional Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Retail and Merchandising experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hunger & poverty issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual- English & Spanish (Preferred)
  • Skills in computer applications i.e. word processing, database management and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to organize work, time, and self, attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting of deadlines.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.
