Mercy Home for Children, a nonprofit agency operating 13 group homes, is hiring for several OPWDD positions. We are hosting a virtual job fair on Monday, November 17, 2025 @ 10:00am. We are is seeking a few dedicated and compassionate Residential Managers to oversee the day-to-day operations for our OPWDD residential programs for adults with developmental disabilities in Rosedale Queens or Brooklyn programs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and their families. Minimum requirements: BA Degree in a related field & prior supervisory experience in a OPWDD program. Salary range $64,350 - $70,000 per year depending on work experience.
We are also interviewing for the following positions: Training Coordinator (salary up to $70K), requires OPWDD SCIP certification, CPR & first Aid is preferred. Part-time QA Investigator (hourly rate $30-$34 per hour) requires IAC training certification. Overnight Assistant Residence Manager, requires exp. with supervising & training staff, shift hours are 12am-8am. Assistant Residence Manager (hourly rate $23- $28 per hour, depending upon experience), requires Associate/Bachelor's degree & prior work exp in OPWDD field--overtime after 40 hours per week.
Entry-level Direct Support Professional position are available, great way to break into the field of human services. Hands-on position working directly with our individuals with developmental disabilities and we will provide training. Work shifts available, 3pm-10pm. Community Habilitation Specialist position working 20 hours per week for our new residence called Kay's Place. Both positions requires HSD/GED and NYS Driver's license, some college is preferred. Hourly rate $17.50 per hour & eligible for 1199 Union benefits.
Requirements
Below are the highlights for the Residential Manager position only:
- Demonstrated leadership experience working with staff & ensure adequate staffing for the residence at all times
- Experience working with the developmentally disabled population
- Previous OPWDD managerial experience is required for this 14 person ICF program
- Experience with audits, enhancing physical plant & handling financial ledgers
- Participate in agency-wide meetings, committees & fundraising events off hours
- Supervise & review petty cash, ordering supplies & clothing for the individuals within budgetary parameters
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Planning recreational activities with the team & use your creative flair to provide fun activities for the individuals
- Be available for off-hour emergencies--(on-call 24 hours)
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite
