We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Production Support- Warehouse, Mid-Level team member to join our Production Team, supporting daily operations and material flow within SMS sites. This position is responsible for overseeing accurate receipts, handling, storage, and distribution of production materials and finished goods. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of inventory management, logistics coordination, and ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint, ensuring production demands are met efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

Coordinate and perform all warehouse functions including receiving, inspecting, stocking, picking, staging, and shipping of materials and finished goods.


Ensure material traceability and documentation accuracy within Deltek Costpoint, maintaining real-time visibility of inventory transactions.


Prepare materials and components for production kitting, ensuring all items meet quality and configuration requirements.


Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and root cause analysis on discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.


Manage logistics and transportation between company facilities, vendors, and customers, ensuring proper documentation, material protection, and schedule adherence.


Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse layout, process efficiency, and material handling practices.


Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, and Quality teams to support on-time material availability for production schedules.


Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.


Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.


Support internal and external audits related to material control and logistics documentation.


Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and facility operations.



Qualifications & Education Requirements

Experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferred but not required.


Prior experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics role.


4-9 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or material control roles, preferably in a manufacturing or defense environment.


Strong understanding of inventory control, logistics operations, and material handling best practices.


Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and capable of producing inventory and logistics reports.


Ability to read and interpret packing lists, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.


Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead small teams or projects.


High school diploma or GED


Valid driver's license with a clean driving record


Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.


Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new systems


Basic math and measurement skills.


Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced production environment.


Works efficiently with the team to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.


Physical Description

Employees in these positions will work in an assembly, manufacturing, and production environment, as well as in equipment assembly areas using technical and electronic testing equipment, including specialized software. They will collaborate with various personnel in a manufacturing or testing setting, attend meetings, contribute to team efforts, deliver timely results, produce reports, and communicate information effectively. Telework may be included.


In specialized laboratory or testing environments, employees will use electronic testing equipment, complex systems, and computer software. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, protective footwear, and lab coats may be required. Employees may be responsible for lifting, moving, testing, and assembling equipment of various weights and utilizing a variety of electronic testing tools.
