Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of social and recreational program policies and procedures
- Assess the needs of the community and work with the program director to develop new programs to address these needs
- Responsible for social and recreational program development and ensuring program quality and compliance, including program activities and content, implementation, staffing, equipment, supplies and resources
- Ensure that necessary documentation or reports are completed in a timely, accurate manner
- Implement methods for social and recreational program evaluation
- Recruit, train, and provide oversight and supervision of social and recreational program staff and volunteers
- Interface and collaborate with other Help Group departments as well as outside agency staff and consumer
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies and efforts (including materials) to publicize social and recreational program offerings, both in-house as well as to the community at large
- Present and directly market social and recreational programs to Help Group parents, as well as to various community groups including community and camp fairs, parent groups, civic groups, professional groups, conferences, agencies, etc.
- Conduct screenings, interviews, and intake meetings for potential social and recreational program participants
- Respond and address parent/consumer/staff problems, concerns, complaints related to social and recreational programs
- Coordinate parent support and education groups, after school social skills groups, or other program groups as needed
- Provide consultation and staff or volunteer in-service training as needed
- Conduct all functions in accordance with Agency guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Comply with applicable professional licensing or certification requirements and ethics
- Arrange work schedule or required hours to the benefit of the program, with the approval of your Supervisor
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field
- Preferred qualifications include 2 years of experience working with Developmentally Delayed and Autism Spectrum Disorder communities, specifically toddlers, youth and teens.
- Previous camp and afterschool enrichment program development required.
- Strong background in program development.
- Outgoing, creative, and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to multitask.
- Strong community relations and marketing abilities.
- Availability to work flexible days and hours to respond to program needs.
- Possess a valid CA driver’s license with good driving record and proof of auto insurance
