Responsibilities
- Be part of Enterprise architecture team and work closely with business and architects to create blueprints that customers can model their solution designs after and plan implementation.
- Enhance Enterprise Architecture Technology Marketplace, an internal go to place for standard architecture blueprints. Create, own and assist in preparing standards based, architecture patterns and designs. Perform research, proof of concepts on new technologies and propose adoption approach.
- Learn and grow: Work on modern technology stack that are key to enabling business capabilities across the company. Few focus areas but not limited to are: AI, Cloud platforms, Security, Sensor technology, Integration, customer experience technologies, Lab setup and testing IT/OT devices (Diode, edge devices, sensors etc).
- Proactively research and coordinate with business partners, internal and external teams to resolve issues effectively.
- Communicate: Convey complex issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in a manner that is easily understood and actionable.
- Collaborate: Put the best ideas into motion by designing and documenting the business and technology architecture patterns and work closely with customers, IT partners, cyber and business unit SME's to draw up blueprints and support project implementations.
- Oversee demand prioritization and work intake for Enterprise Architecture, including gathering requirements, conducting research, facilitating workshops, and preparing communications.
- Be instrumental in advancing enterprise architecture goals using innovation, process improvements and creative methods to deliver +1 customer experience.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Ensures implementation of Company safety, health, and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one year experience which includes cumulative work experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience, or six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience or
- Master's Degree and a minimum of one year experience which includes cumulative work experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience, or six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience.
- Understanding of the software/product development process and basic software engineering principles, Required.
- Ability to develop programs using modern programming languages such as Python, Java, .Net or C#. Familiarity with using SQL, APIs to connect and integrate different software systems, Required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies, Required.
- Capable of working independently or with a team and build strong working relationships, Required.
- Ability to handle and deliver multiple assignments with changing priorities, Required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with team members, stakeholders, and business partners, Required.
- Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement or learning, Preferred.
- Openness to feedback and a desire to grow professionally, Preferred.
- A good understanding of industry standard policy, processes and procedures covering software development life cycle (SDLC), Product Agile and waterfall methodologies, problem solving techniques and change management, Preferred.
- Goal-driven team player who can help lead/work with diverse teams, take a hands-on approach, and leverage experts to achieve objectives, Preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments
- Possesses strong technical aptitude
- Driver's License Required
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
