Position Summary 

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all Plant level aspects of our plastics manufacturing facility operations. This role is responsible for delivering operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will serve as the operational leader of the facility, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while optimizing manufacturing processes, managing resources effectively, and fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. 

The ideal candidate is a proven manufacturing leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on operational expertise, has a track record of delivering results in complex manufacturing environments, and is committed to building sustainable, world-class operations for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities 

 

Operations Management  

  • Oversee all daily manufacturing operations including production, quality, maintenance, and logistics
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company goals and market demands 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies 
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, delivery, and cost 
  • Optimize production processes to maximize efficiency, minimize waste, and ensure quality 
  • Manage production planning and scheduling to meet customer demands and inventory targets 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements 

Team Leadership & Development  

  • Build, hire, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team from the ground up 
  • Create a strong organizational culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement 
  • Establish performance management systems and employee development programs 
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration across operations, engineering, quality, and commercial teams 
  • Mentor and develop future leaders within the organization 
  • Champion employee engagement and retention initiatives

Financial Management  

  • Assist in the development and management annual operating budgets
  • Drive operational cost optimization 
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and implement strategies to improve margins 
  • Justify and prioritize capital investments with strong ROI business cases 
  • Monitor and report on financial performance against targets 

Strategic Planning & Growth  

  • Assist in the development of long-term strategic plans for capacity expansion and capability enhancement 
  • Identify and implement new technologies and process innovations 
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Quality on new product launches and customer programs 
  • Build scalable systems and processes to support future growth 
  • Represent the facility in corporate strategic planning initiatives 

Customer & Stakeholder Management  

  • Partner with commercial teams to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery 
  • Host customer visits and facility tours 
  • Participate in new business development activities 
  • Report operational performance to senior leadership and ownership

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7–10 years of plant or operations management experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with strong team-building and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of blow molding, injection molding, and polymer processing.
  • Experience with ERP systems (IQMS preferred) and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills 

  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience launching or scaling new manufacturing facilities.
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and GMP compliance.
