SUMMARY:
SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the Information Systems Manager, installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, peripheral equipment and data processing systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages. Loads and updates software applications as required.
- Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitor, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required by new installations and office reconfigurations.
- Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and correction where required. Refers major hardware problems to supervisor for appropriate action.
- Performs duties for carrying out computer operations according to policies and procedures to assure quality. Meets with supervisor to discuss progress of work, resolve problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
- Notifies supervisor of errors or equipment stoppage. Assists with reviewing of daily logs and reports to detect recurring slowdowns or errors. Records problems, which occur, such as down time, and actions taken.
- Assists in evaluation of new software and hardware to determine usefulness and compatibility with existing hardware and software. Consults with software and hardware vendors and other agency workers to solve problems impeding computer processing.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining Wide Area Network (WAN), user environments, and network security.
- Protects client confidentiality by monitoring and educating end users on electronic data security. Reports security issues/observations/breaches to immediate supervisor. Assists with creation of and maintenance of WEB based Internet/Intranet applications.
- Answers telephone calls to assist computer users encountering problem. Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; staffs a centralized help desk to facilitate exchange of information and advise to implement solutions.
- Maintains a professional organized clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards.
- Assists in development of departmental policy, procedures, and quality improvement activities within the clinic as directed.
- Attends department staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Must be willing to learn more about the American Indian culture and attend at least one Cultural Presentation/Training per year.
- Must be willing to work with American Indian/Alaska Native people and demonstrate cultural awareness and humility
- Must be willing to deliver services in a culturally responsive manner.
- Adheres to accreditation and compliance standards/guideline
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Educational degrees must be from a US Department of Education accredited school
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in computer field or related field or
- Two to three years of experience administering a Windows server and desktop environment with active directory experience.
COMPUTER OPERATIONS:- Advanced personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Ability to successfully navigate and utilized the electronic health record system(s).
- Knowledge of computer systems and administration such as: VMware Administration, NetApp SAN Administration, Backup Administration, SQL Server Administration, Network Administration and Terminal Services Administration
- Advanced personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Ability to successfully navigate and utilized the electronic health record system(s).
