ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a Data and Metrics Analyst to join our team supporting the Metrics and Measurements team. In this role, you will dive deep into organizational data to identify areas of excellence and improvement, synthesize insights to tell compelling stories about the value our organization delivers to customers, leverage tools like Power BI to visualize and analyze metrics that drive decision-making. Your contributions will directly support our mission by providing actionable intelligence that enhances operational efficiency and customer impact.

As part of a collaborative team, you'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct deep-dive research, perform ad-hoc analyses, and develop dashboards that highlight key performance indicators (KPIs). You'll also contribute to ongoing projects aimed at refining our measurement frameworks and create visualizations that make complex insights accessible and influential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, metrics reporting, or business intelligence
• Experience in SaaS/PaaS environments, ideally with exposure to government or federal IT projects
Required Skills & Expertise:
• Proficiency in Power BI (2+ years), including dashboard creation, data modeling, and DAX scripting; experience with other analytical tools like Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Python/R for data manipulation
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to research, dig into large datasets, synthesize information, and derive actionable insights (3+ years)
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tell data-driven stories through visualizations, reports, and presentations to non-technical audiences
• High ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Strong ability to facilitate interviews with technical team leads that yields quantifiable metric statements
• Strong understanding of data flows and delivery methods
• Experience creating and maintaining documentation and data dictionaries
• Proven adherence to data integrity best practices
• Proficiency with SharePoint and Jira
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
• Familiarity with government agency environments
• Experience with advanced analytics tools or machine learning frameworks for predictive modeling
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• Within the first 30 days: Onboard fully, understand our data sources and current metrics frameworks, and complete initial analyses on key datasets to identify quick-win insights.
• Within the first 90 days: Develop and deploy at least two Power BI dashboards that address specific departmental needs, build relationships with team members and stakeholders, and contribute to a metrics report that influences a strategic decision.
• Within 3–6 months: Lead independent research projects to uncover new areas of opportunity or inefficiency, mentor junior team members on data synthesis techniques, and establish yourself as a go-to expert for metrics-related inquiries, demonstrating measurable improvements in data-driven storytelling and team efficiency.
Within your first 3–6 months, you’ll have built trusted relationships with your team and stakeholders, contributed meaningfully to project delivery, and demonstrated your ability to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions. You'll be seen as a proactive, reliable teammate who adds value and insight from day one.
