Adjunct Faculty Cybersecurity
This position is a skilled Cybersecurity Instructor who possesses a comprehensive ability set, extensive practical experience, and a commitment to educating the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. This role involves international travel opportunities and encompasses presenting, teaching, leadership, and expert guidance across various cybersecurity domains.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cybersecurity Instructor, the role will be multifaceted and include the following responsibilities:
1. Comprehensive Cybersecurity Expertise:
- Demonstrate expertise in network information security, computer security architecture design, data security engineering, and leadership qualities.
- Exhibit proficiency in ethics, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to upholding ethical standards in cybersecurity practices.
2. Teaching and Education:
- Instruct students in various internet aspects, providing a deep understanding of the internet's dimensions and applications.
- Clarify complex network components, empowering students to comprehend the intricacies of computer networks, including protocols, hardware, and software.
- Develop and update cybersecurity training scenarios and exercises in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Create and maintain a diverse range of realistic cybersecurity simulations to address various threats and attack vectors. Cyber range experience a plus.
3. Curriculum Subject Matter Expert:
- Collaborate with instructional designers and educators to define learning objectives and outcomes for cybersecurity courses.
- Develop comprehensive course outlines, lesson plans, and assessments that align with industry standards and best practices.
- Ensure the inclusion of up-to-date content that reflects the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
- Create engaging and informative multimedia content, including video lectures, written materials, interactive exercises, and assessments.
- Leverage your expertise to explain complex cybersecurity concepts in a clear and accessible manner for diverse learners.
4. Cutting-Edge Security Education:
- Stay at the forefront of cybersecurity by showcasing the latest advancements in internet security practices.
- Educate students on state-of-the-art techniques and technologies to secure networks across diverse applications.
- Ensure cybersecurity tools, platforms, and simulated environments are available and functional.
5. Emerging Technology Exploration:
- Delve into emerging security technologies relevant to contemporary cybersecurity challenges, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, and IoT security.
6. Ethical and Policy Focus:
- Lead discussions on ethical dilemmas and public policy challenges commonly encountered in cybersecurity.
- Highlight technology integration and legal frameworks to address these issues, emphasizing ethical decision-making.
7. Educational Mentorship:
- Serve as an educator, mentor, and guide to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical considerations required for success in the dynamic field of cybersecurity.
Requirements:
Hold a minimum of a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field AND at least three years of experience working in the Cybersecurity industry or least three years of experience teaching in Cybersecurity, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.
Qualifications:
· Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
· A passion for education, cybersecurity, a service orientation, and excitement to create great learning experiences for students
· Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+).
· Substantial professional experience in cybersecurity, including leadership roles.
· Proven teaching or instructional experience in cybersecurity education.
· Strong communication and presentation skills.
· Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed.
· Specific industry, military, government or university training, or experience in general cybersecurity development or operations
