The Business Development Manager will create a strategic action plan, build new client relationships, secure new projects (revenue), help our clients meet their objectives, and achieve the Company’s sales goals for Facilities & Manufacturing services. The Business Development Manager is primarily tasked with networking with current and potential clients, developing new leads, consultative selling, and closing deals in a cross-functional setting. In order to be successful in lead generation, a willingness to utilize and optimize lead generation tools like Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is required.
Kymanox® Facilities & Manufacturing Services provides comprehensive engineering and technical support for the design, build-out, commissioning, and qualification of facilities, utilities, and production systems essential for compliant pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device manufacturing.
Our specialized capabilities include:
Facility design and layout optimization, including cleanroom design review and technical support to meet CGMP requirements.
Utility and process equipment implementation, including specification, procurement support, commissioning, and qualification.
Project management for capital projects, including design through start-up of commercial operations.
Process scale-up and integration, ensuring smooth technology transfer from development to process validation and commercial manufacturing.
Operational readiness and inspection support, including comprehensive gap assessment, remediation, documentation, and validation traceability to achieve successful regulatory inspection and commercial operations.
Cross-functional coordination with Technical Services, Quality & Compliance, and Regulatory teams to ensure holistic readiness for commercial manufacturing success.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing business in the life sciences (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics) specifically in the focus area of Facilities & Manufacturing Services.
Build, maintain, and manage a sales pipeline and forecast to achieve company revenue goals.
Support the development of proposals/solutions for project opportunities.
Build a trusted/strategic relationship with decision-makers on the client side.
Monitor and maintain client relationships to identify partnership/contract growth opportunities.
Create and deliver quarterly client presentations, including quarterly business reviews and action plans.
Work closely with the Operations teams to accurately forecast and recognize potential client revenue.
Collaborate internally to help strengthen organizational processes to create and improve delivery efficiencies.
Attend events and support lead generation campaigns to discover new project opportunities.
Actively promote the company’s profile and brand by participating in trade shows, association events, and conferences.
Keep sales databases updated with all lead and opportunity information.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with coursework or work-related experience in sales, business development, marketing, or communications.
Desired Experience:
10-15+ years of experience in Sales or Business Development in the life sciences.
Previous work experience with Engineering, Facility & Process Design, or Construction Firms.
Previous work experience selling Facility & Manufacturing Services including, but not limited to, facility and equipment commissioning, qualification, and validation services.
Previous work experience in managing or selling professional services.
Proven track record in developing new relationships & cross-selling current accounts.
Previous experience using Customer Relationship Management software (e.g., Salesforce).
Previous experience with MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Work Location:
This role will be based in the USA, preferably near one of the Kymanox offices in Research Triangle Park, NC or King of Prussia, PA.
Travel:
Up to 30% remote travel domestically and internationally is possible. A passport is required for this job.

Base compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and other intangibles evident during the interview process – as well as market conditions.
