Position Title: Business Data Analyst
Department: Accounting
Location: Buena Park, CA
Reports To: Accounting Manager & CEO
Salary Range: $101,712 Annual Salary (40 hours per week - Flexible hours)
Job Summary:
The Business Data Analyst is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that guide business decisions across departments. This role supports strategic planning and operational efficiency by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets. The analyst will create visual dashboards, maintain business intelligence tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity across the company’s workflow—from purchasing to manufacturing and sales—supporting the accounting department in successfully closing monthly books with validated data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to generate comprehensive reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data.
- Design, maintain, and update business intelligence (BI) tools, databases, dashboards, and other visualizations to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
- Provide technical support for existing dashboards, reports, and data tools, troubleshooting data or visualization issues as needed.
- Analyze industry trends to identify strategic opportunities and potential risks.
- Ensure seamless data flow between purchasing, manufacturing, sales, and accounting functions to enable accurate month-end financial close.
- Create and maintain documentation for data collection processes, methodologies, and analytical findings.
- Deliver data-driven recommendations to management that drive business growth, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT, accounting, sales, and operations teams to integrate data from multiple sources and ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Identify trends, patterns, and insights that support informed decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of professional experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience using Tableau to create interactive and dynamic dashboards.
- Proficiency with MS SQL Management Studio for querying and preparing data for analysis.
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools and data visualization techniques.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings to management and cross-functional teams.
- Detail Orientation: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data validation, documentation, and reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to translate complex datasets into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.

Working Conditions:
- This position is 100% on-site, and while hours are flexible, we expect a commitment of 6 to 8 hours of work per day in the office environment.
- Occasional overtime may be requested to meet deadlines, particularly during month-end and year-end closing periods, as well as during peak business periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, such as computers, printers, and calculators.

- Vacation: 2-4 weeks depending on years of service. Accrued 1/26 per pay period after completion of 90 days of employment.
