Description
The Quality Repairer is responsible for repairing furniture pieces in fabric and leather with 100% quality and inspecting sofas and chairs in different stages of production to ensure a quality product was produced, when not completing repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Repair frames, covers, legs and sewing.
o Hand Sewing
o Use chemicals and other products to repair and touch up leathers and legs.
o Using a heat gun on leathers.
• Train others as needed.
• Perform a visual inspection of the finished product to ensure:
o Stitches are straight
o Ensure pattern is correct according to production ticket.
o Ensure piece is Upholstered correctly to specifications.
o Ensure there are no holes or flaws in the Fabric/Leather.
o Ensure legs and finishes of leg are correct.
o Make repairs as needed.
• Push piece back to upholster to correct issues.
• Work with Cutting department to stay up to date on new fabrics and leathers, their characteristics and how to repair issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications:
• Must be able to read/write English.
• Must be able to read a ruler.
• Must be able to read an order ticket.
• Must be able to tell the difference in finishes of the legs.
• Must have knowledge of Upholstery Procedures.
• Must be able to use a staple gun, staple puller, scissors and regulators.
• Must be able to work safely, neatly, and quickly to meet production requirements.
• Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to transport frames to and from the work area.
• Must be able to use chemicals to repair and touch up as needed.
• Must have good vision.
• Must be able to consistently push/pull and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills, including ability to describe and convey nonconformance issues is required.
• Strict attention to detail is a must.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Must have your own reliable transportation.
• Must be able to walk and stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to work Weekends and Overtime.
• Must be able to wear required PPE such as Safety Glasses and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes.
• Must be able to adhere to all Safety Policies and Procedures to prevent injuries to yourself and others.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Climate-controlled furniture manufacturing plant. Concrete floors.
