WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

As Chief Transfer Pricing Expert (f/m/d), you will lead SAP’s global transfer pricing strategy and serve as the key architect of our global TP framework. You will ensure SAP’s intercompany transactions are aligned with international tax and transfer pricing regulations, while supporting SAP’s strategic business objectives and operational model. This role is both strategic and hands-on — combining deep technical expertise in global transfer pricing with strong business acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across Finance, Controlling, Legal, and business operations worldwide.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

include but not limited to:

  • Lead SAP’s global transfer pricing strategy — define, maintain, and continuously evolve SAP’s TP policy in alignment with OECD guidelines and local country requirements.
  • Own SAP’s transfer pricing governance framework, including global documentation standards, policy alignment, and implementation oversight.
  • Design and monitor transfer pricing models supporting SAP’s operating model, including IP structuring, cost-sharing arrangements, and business restructurings.
  • Oversee global TP compliance and audit defense, ensuring consistency and readiness for local reviews and controversy management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Controlling, Legal, Business Operations, and external advisors) to ensure coherent and compliant execution of SAP’s TP strategy.
  • Advise senior leadership on TP implications of strategic initiatives, M&A, and business model transformations.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, analytics, and technology-driven transfer pricing solutions.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

 

  • Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Taxation; a professional qualification like the German Certified Tax Advisor is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in transfer pricing strategy, corporate and international tax, planning, and compliance within a multinational environment or Big Four advisory firm.
  • Deep understanding of OECD transfer pricing guidelines, BEPS initiatives, and global tax frameworks.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects across multiple jurisdictions and with other departments.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills — capable of translating technical TP concepts into business language.
  • Digitalization, Automation and AI Experience are very welcome.
  • Excellent command of English; German or other languages are a plus
