The Opportunity

This is your chance to be part of the Architecture Team at Arup in Spain. It is a young and dynamic team that grows in an organic and agile way and is currently working on a wide variety of projects around the world. Building on our extensive global experience, we have established an architecture team in Madrid to enhance our ability to deliver multidisciplinary and integrated designs to our clients for a growing number of technically, socially and functionally complex projects.

As an Architect at Arup, you will:

·       Lead the development of architectural and interior design proposals from concept through to detailed design, working closely with senior architects and team leaders.

·       Coordinate effectively with other disciplines within Arup, ensuring seamless integration of architecture with structural, MEP, and other engineering aspects.

·       Produce high-quality presentations to communicate design ideas clearly and compellingly.

·       Participate in and sometimes lead the creation of 3D modeling, visualization, diagrams, and physical models across various scales and project stages.

·       Engage in site visits to oversee implementation and ensure design integrity.

·       Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and sharing expertise.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in architecture and design across multiple scales – from buildings and cities to furniture and objects. The ideal profile demonstrates solid architectural knowledge, a keen design sensibility, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. A genuine curiosity for the built environment and a commitment to excellence in design are essential. This role is intended to join our architecture team in Madrid at Arup.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

·       3-4 years of experience.

·       Proficiency in English and Spanish (C1 level).

Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary work, placing collective objectives and project excellence above individual interests or personal recognition.

·       Demonstrated leadership potential, with the ability to manage project tasks and team coordination.

·       Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

·       Advanced skills in Revit, Rhinoceros, AutoCAD, the Microsoft Office suite, InDesign, and Photoshop.

·       Experience with rendering software such as VRay or similar.

·       Interest in digital tools and familiarity with programs like Illustrator.
