Equinox VGM is currently inviting applications for a Supply Chain Manager to join our growing team as the company transitions from mine construction to mine operations.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Business Manager, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all supply chain functions at the surface gold mining site, including procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and contract administration. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services required for safe and efficient mine operations, while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

 

This position is located at the Valentine Gold Mine site, working on a 4 days in/3 days out rotation.  

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with operational goals.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.

Procurement & Contract Management:

  • Oversee sourcing, negotiation, and administration of vendor contracts.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Inventory & Warehousing:

  • Manage inventory levels to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of materials and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting of inventory metrics.

Logistics & Distribution:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Optimize transportation routes and methods for cost-effectiveness and reliability.

Team Management:

  • Supervise and develop supply chain staff, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Provide training and resources to ensure team effectiveness.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in risk assessments and safety meetings.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in supply chain roles, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management platforms.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SCMP, CPIM, CSCP) are an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and a driver’s abstract required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Commitment to safety, integrity, environment and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively to support career growth.
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization (other mine sites and with corporate) and build strong relationships.
  • Proven leadership experience in a remote or site-based environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential in presenting, communicating, and interacting with stakeholders and at all levels of management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Proven analytical skills that can quickly assess and resolve complex issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and and Power Point presentations.
