Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic, caring, and enthusiastic part time Water Fitness Instructor to lead fitness classes designed specifically for the aquatic environment. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by promoting health, movement, and connection in our community. Instructors have the option of teaching from the pool deck or teaching in the pool.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead safe, engaging, and age-appropriate water fitness classes for varying fitness levels and physical abilities.

Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating class environment.

Provide clear instruction and modifications for varying fitness levels and physical abilities.

Build rapport with participants and foster a sense of community.

Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing proper techniques and monitoring class activity.

Maintain a clean and organized workout space.

Collaborate with YMCA staff to support wellness programming and special events.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required current certifications: CPR/ AED, and a YMCA or other nationally recognized water fitness certification or willingness to obtain them.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must be dependable
- Experience teaching group water fitness classes preferred.
- Availability to teach a 10:00 am weekday class

The ability to demonstrate exercises and fitness-related movements in an aquatic environment. This may include but is not limited to: lifting dumbbells, pressing weight overhead, pressing weight with legs, sitting/laying on the floor, standing, jumping.

The ability to hear and speak to be heard by class participants in an aquatic environment.

Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
