We are seeking two (2) part-time positions. Great work environment and benefits including PTO!One part-time shift will work in the morning/afternoon hours with weekend availabilityOne part-time shift will work evening hours with weekend availabilityThe pay is $15.00 per hour



Position Summary: People’s Food Co-op’s Wellness Team Members treat excellent customer service as their primary focus. In the Wellness Department, we assist in answering customer questions by referencing on hand product information, or using internet access to research Wellness topics. We keep department clean, assist with bagging groceries when necessary, and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and other team members. 


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with department manager about daily activities, needs and challenges.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff to create a positive work environment.
  • Be able to correct errors and troubleshoot potential problems in the department.
  • Maintain quality control standards for the department.
  • Provide prompt and friendly service, including answering questions and providing samples.
  • Maintain knowledge of product, provides information to customers regarding use and preparation.
  • Ensure department cases and prep areas are clean.
  • Receive product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy.
  • Meet with manufacturer reps. and brokers to stay aware of new products and trends within the HBC category.
  • Prepare items for stocking, stock, rotate, merchandise and face product according to procedure.
  • Maintain backstock areas according to department standards.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Know and adhere to quality standards for customer service as instructed by the department manager.
  • Adhere to all guidelines around product recommendation and information.
  • Know and promote the cooperative values and principles.
  • Communicate respectfully with customers and coworkers at all times.
  • Prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus.
  • Operate with a sense of teamwork.
  • Report for scheduled shifts on-time and ready to work.
  • Understand and adhere to organizational and department policy and procedures.
  • Accept direction willingly and follow through with delegated tasks.
  • Perform tasks consistently at an acceptable rate as outlined by department manager.
  • Maintain safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Read and stay abreast of information relating to supplements/HBC in trade journals, through workshops and other training opportunities that present themselves.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, and reaching for duration of shift.
