Camp to Career Associate

The overall purpose of this position is to ensure that children in the Southern Sector of Dallas have access to safe and life-changing summer camp opportunities each year.  HPUMC’s mission is to help people become deeply devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that Camp to Career ministry programming helps young people grow into deeply devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Our vision is a dedicated and mobilized community empowered by the Holy Spirit, making a significant, sustainable impact in our city and world in the name of Jesus Christ. This position focuses on creating a sustainable impact, particularly in providing young people in Dallas with access to transformative experiences.

Ministerial Exemption: No 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Campus: Mockingbird

Working Hours: This is a Part-time position that will work between 5-15 hours per week for most weeks of the year.

Anticipated Schedule: This position will require regular evening and weekend hours.

  • During certain times of the year, additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job, especially leading up to camp and any planned pilgrimages. 
  • Occasional travel in the US will be required (anticipated up to two weeks per year).
  • There may be times when work is required outside of regular working hours to attend camp registration and volunteer meetings. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of Camp Programming: 
    1. Organize and coordinate with community churches and organizations to register all campers and Wranglers. 
    2. Plan and execute transportation needs.
    3. Communicate with all parents, Wranglers, and camp personnel. 
    4. Ensure logistics for every aspect of camp are in place and structured on time. 
    5. Act as point-person for the week of camp.
    6. Coordinate with HPUMC for any needs throughout the year. 
  • Organize all Senior Year programming for Camp students that includes Senior Lunch, Senior Send-off, and Tassel Worth The Hassle. 
  • Assist Director of Outreach and Executive Director of Generosity and Impact in yearly donor communication. 
  • Maintain regular communication with Wranglers and plan regular meetings throughout the year. 
  • Send yearly encouragement cards and notes to all high school seniors and college students. 
  • Plan a Christmas Gathering for all college students during their winter break. 

Education and Desired Skills:

  • Have a deep understanding of the communities, churches, and organizations in the Southern Sector of Dallas.
  • Be proficient in Google and Microsoft Suites. 
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to effectively communicate with a variety of organizations and program stakeholders, including kids, families, community leaders, volunteers, and donors. 
  • Be detail-oriented and flexible. 

Preferred Software Experience:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar, etc…)
  • Touch Point or similar database knowledge/experience
  • Zoom/GoogleMeet/Virtual Meeting Applications
  • Social Media
