The Assistant Director of Women’s Racquets supports the overall vision and growth of the club’s women’s racquet sports programs, including tennis and pickleball. This role assists in leading programming, coaching, staff development, and community engagement to deliver an exceptional experience for all women players—from beginners to competitive athletes. The ideal candidate is an energetic, organized, and creative professional who is passionate about coaching, program innovation, and building strong member relationships.
Job Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Assist in setting the vision, goals, and objectives for all women’s racquets programs.
- Help design and implement seasonal programming including clinics, leagues, tournaments, and camps.
- Monitor program performance by tracking participation, retention, and revenue metrics.
- Innovate and introduce new offerings to attract and retain women players.
- Host and coordinate women’s social events, mixers, and themed racquets parties.
Coaching & Instruction
- Provide private and group instruction for women of all skill levels in tennis and pickleball.
- Lead, coach, and manage women’s competitive teams and league players.
- Develop structured lesson plans, training progressions, and player development models.
- Mentor junior coaches and provide constructive feedback to enhance teaching standards.
Staff Management & Development
- Assist in recruiting, training, and scheduling coaching staff for women’s programs.
- Maintain quality control and ensure consistent coaching standards across all staff.
- Conduct periodic staff evaluations and support ongoing professional development.
Operations & Administration
- Support scheduling, court allocations, and daily facility logistics.
- Partner with marketing and communications teams to promote programs and events.
- Manage client relations, address feedback, and resolve concerns professionally.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight for women’s programs.
Business & Growth Initiatives
- Drive participation and retention in women’s clinics, lessons, and memberships.
- Collaborate on marketing and outreach campaigns to grow the women’s racquets community.
- Build partnerships with local schools, community groups, and organizations.
- Represent the club at events, tournaments, and within the broader racquets network.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Proven experience as a high-level racquets coach/instructor (tennis and/or pickleball).
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a racquets program.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and member service skills.
- Ability to mentor staff and foster a positive, team-oriented coaching culture.
- Proficient in administrative tasks including scheduling, reporting, and budgeting.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growing participation and engagement.
- Professional certification(s) preferred (PTR, USPTA, PPR, or equivalent).
- Enthusiasm for player development, women’s programming, and community building.
