The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Bench Assembly Technician to join our team. The Technician will work within a team environment and be responsible for the operation of miscellaneous processes supporting aftermarket repair and manufacturing. This position is for afternoons 2:30 PM - 11 PM.
Additionally, the Technician will:
- Disassemble non-conforming parts from production in order to repair, reassemble, or prep them for the production team.
- Be responsible for setting up and operating manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, broaching, polishing, and gear checking machines).
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
- Inspect and/or test related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.
- Uses a variety of hand tools, shears, grinders, drills, saws, tube bending and flaring equipment, pipe threading, and other items to be used in assembly.
- Completes soldering, brazing, and other bonding techniques.
- Cleans, organizes and maintains cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
- Strives to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School or GED required
- Proficient in production-level metal finishing and repair processes with 1–2 years of practical hands-on experience.
- Must be able to read, understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions.
- Attention to detail, ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time, and work in a team environment.
- Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators etc.
- Ability to work afternoons (2:30 PM -11 PM)
- Training on 1st shift
- Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).

- Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
