Job Summary
The Manager – IT Projects is responsible for leading and coordinating IT initiatives that impact both business operations and offshore activities, with a primary focus on software development project management. This role oversees projects from concept to completion—ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities. The position bridges the gap between IT and business stakeholders to drive successful outcomes and continuous improvement across the enterprise.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and direction for various IT initiatives impacting corporate and offshore operations.
- Manages full project lifecycles—from requirements gathering and planning to deployment and post-implementation review.
- Develops and maintains detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets; adjusts as needed to accommodate evolving business needs.
- Coordinates cross-functional project teams and ensures clear communication of goals, deliverables, and timelines.
- Identifies, assesses, and mitigates project risks while proactively managing dependencies and critical paths.
- Organizes and facilitates IT-related meetings, communications, and company events to promote alignment and engagement.
- Assists with IT budget planning, cost tracking, and forecasting for assigned projects and initiatives.
- Oversees vendor engagement and collaboration with software developers and technical partners.
- Ensures that project deliverables adhere to quality standards and are transitioned effectively to production support.
- Communicates project status, issues, and milestones to IT leadership, business sponsors, and key stakeholders.
- Promotes best practices in project documentation, reporting, and stakeholder management.
Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of IT experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of project management or planning experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the energy or industrial sector preferred.
- PMI certification (PMP or CAPM) or equivalent project management credential strongly preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical and project information to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership, organization, and collaboration skills; able to manage multiple initiatives in dynamic environments.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and technical contributors.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
- Skilled in documenting business processes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Proficient in project management tools and techniques, with a clear understanding of risk management and quality assurance practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Financial acumen, including project cost analysis and forecasting, is a plus.
