Purpose

 

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Parts Manager will manage parts operations and personnel at the branch to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise parts inventory, purchasing and invoicing.
  • Accurately and timely orders, tracks, and receives parts for crane repairs and maintenance.
  • Label and stage parts and materials for repairs and maintenance once received at the branch.
  • Order shop supplies and PPE for mechanics and technicians.
  • Communicate with vendors via phone and email regarding shipments and orders.
  • Complete weekly inventory cycle counts and manages annual audit in warehouse to maintain accuracy in ordering, receiving, usage and adjustments to inventory.
  • Maintain warehouse order and cleanliness in accordance with 5S program.
  • Coordinate parts inventory from manufacturers and communicating with vendors for company and customer owned equipment.
  • Confirm invoice accuracy.
  • Effectively manage inventory turns and slow-moving or obsolescent inventory.
  • Coordinate with the Service department and delivery schedules.
  • Plan and attain short and long-term objectives in line with company goals.
  • Forecast and plan processes and procedures to maximize department efficiency.
  • Work with the Branch Manager to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities, equipment and supplies
  • Manage warehouse admin personnel; including performance, counseling, staff scheduling, interviewing, attendance, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in parts and service in a similar industry such as equipment rental, auto parts service, etc.
  • 3+ years’ experience using a CMMS system
  • 1+ years’ experience in team lead or supervisory role

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Advanced organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Moderate computer skills and knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Moderate ability to build strategic working relationships
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and attention to details
  • Moderate level ability to read, comprehend, and create instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Moderate level ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
