Position: Medical Staff – Event Season
Location: Woodward PA
Job Status: Part Time Temporary
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Medical Staff Member, responsibilities include the day-to-day care of illnesses, injuries and medical emergencies that occur on camp facilities for campers, staff, guests and visiting professional athletes – not just on a professional level but personal as well and the increased networking opportunity is unmatched!
Within this role there are varying degrees of processes in which must be understood and prioritized in order to successfully achieve the daily operations of this department.
Our Medical Staff should be knowledgeable in the injuries and sport injury prevention as well as basic illness medical treatments. Our Medical Staff will work hand in hand with visiting professional athletes to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all campers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall
Maintain and be a knowledgeable resource of current and proposed standards of practice and PA state guidelines of registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, certified medical assistant, athletic trainer, and/or emergency medical technician
Ensuring adherence to HIPPA standards
Work as a team within the Nursing Station, Athletic Training Room, and Transportation Department to ensure the best care is provided to all on camp property
Responsible to provide comprehensive medical care to all campers, guests, and staff
Attend and participate in staff training to acquire knowledge for behavior management techniques, emergency evacuation procedures, etc.
Responsible for maintaining records on campers, staff, and guests utilizing our internal platforms
Contribute to overall organization and administration of the Nurses Station and Athletic Training Room in conjunction with other assigned staff
Responsible for scheduling and follow-up evaluation and check-in appointments as needed
Liaison between parents, coaches, program staff, and athletes regarding illnesses, injury care, prevention, management, and treatment.
Maintain Woodward's safety logs, operational sheets and incident logs
Staffing Supervision (Passionate People)
Train and develop students to ensure health and safety are executed to Woodward's standards
Provide oversight to student
Maintain a positive learning environment for clinical education of student and other medical personal
Attend weekly meetings to discuss current issues and safety lists
Facilities and Equipment (Innovative Environments)
Ensure the Nurses Station and Athletic Training Room is covered on a rotational basis from 8:30am to 10pm Sunday thru Saturday
Provide on-call overnight coverage on a rotational basis every night via phone and radio coverage
Take daily inventory on supplies and operational needs
Communicate any and all maintenance needed to uphold a safe and sanitized medical facility
Other duties as assigned
Attend camper orientation to provide education on safety and wellness
Help facilitate safety and wellness across the entire camp
Support storytelling, social and content ideas for medical and health and wellness
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
Experience: 1+ years
Registered Nurse, LPN, Certified Medical Assistant, NATABOC ATC, EMT, Paramedic
Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure / Compact State (Multi-State Licensure)
Must have 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
SafeSport Certification
CPR Certification
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, comfortable presenting and deploying new technologies
Demonstrate broad technical knowledge of management techniques
Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
Strong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Is creative. Can conceptualize ideas. Can think "outside the box". Has the ability to implement ideas.
Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team.
BASIC/SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening, and Pennsylvania Mandated Reporter Certification
Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
Must be comfortable working in an outdoor all-season environment.

3 daily meals are provided as part of employment.
Staff housing will be provided during employment.
