SUMMARY
The General Maintenance Engineer II ("Ingeniero/a de Mantenimiento II") position requires previous experience in the performance of hotel or similar facility maintenance tasks in the plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair and maintenance fields. Familiarity with small appliance repairs, plumbing fixture repairs, simple electrical troubleshooting and repairs is a must. Knowledge of environmental control in guest meeting spaces is required. Strong customer service skills are important. The ability to accurately maintain records of assigned tasks and follow up with engineering management to schedule and complete tasks is critical.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Complete assigned work tasks in a timely fashion. Identify needed part(s) and order part(s) with approval of management. Notify engineering management of the expected delivery date of parts and the estimated delay in repair(s). Complete repair(s) after part(s) received and report completion to appropriate personnel.
- Work with the Engineering Supervisor, Engineering Administrator or Director of Engineering to schedule assigned work to minimize impact to operation and guests. Track status of maintenance tasks and report status of all assigned tasks to engineering management from start to completion.
- Troubleshoot defective equipment and determine needed repairs or adjustments to bring them all into proper operation.
- Independently perform repairs to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Seek help when needed to ensure repairs are completed on time.
- Reviews and maintains maintenance pass on logs and all other assigned logs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED and relevant trade certifications.
- At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
- Availability to work on weekends, holidays and day or night shift is required.
- Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Experience in dealing with the public is preferred.
- Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R, and kitchen equipment preferred.
- The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
