GENERAL SUMMARY:
An opportunity within our Finance team for a dynamic and driven finance professional to join as a Staff Accountant II supporting the organization. As an integral member of our team, the ideal candidate will be joining a group of professionals committed to providing exceptional service.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily or monthly reconciliations of assigned accounts, ensuring the account balances to underlying support and investigating and resolving any reconciling items, including but not limited to cash, loans, other assets, and other liabilities
Prepares journal entries in accordance with GAAP principles
Assist in maintaining an efficient closing/consolidation process which meets the reporting needs of all organizational levels
Assists in annual and interim audits performed by external auditors including SOX control execution and documentation
Assists in operational state tax reporting preparation
Identifies internal control issues and inefficiencies and makes recommendations for improvements
Supports affiliate personnel with various adhoc requests
Other duties as assigned
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
2 - 4 years of experience working in accounting field
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (SUMIF, Pivot Tables, Vlookup)
Strong work ethic and exhibits a “sense of urgency”
Self-motivated
Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information
Ability to coordinate multiple conflicting priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in NetSuite ERP and Adaptive Insights or similar software
CPA preferred, but not required
2 – 4 years accounting experience at a public accounting firm with financial services clients or industry experience in financial services
Familiarity with BI tools (Adaptive Insights and QlikView used in house)
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is competitive based on the job duties as well as the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience of the selected candidate.
This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily located in office environment
