PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Business Systems Analyst supports the development, enhancement, and optimization of information systems and related processes that serve instructional and operational needs across the district. This position acts as a liaison between district leadership, campus administrators, end users, and technical teams to ensure system requirements are accurately gathered, clearly documented, and effectively implemented. The analyst works to improve efficiency, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making by aligning technology solutions with district goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Degree(s):
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Professional experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years as a Business Analyst or in a related role, preferably within K-12 education or the public sector.
- Experience gathering requirements, documenting processes, and supporting system implementation projects.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of K–12 educational systems such as SIS, LMS, ERP, HR, and state reporting platforms.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with educational data privacy laws and security practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with project management and/or agile methodologies.
- Working knowledge of SQL or other database query tools.
- Experience with data integration and process improvement initiatives.
- Background in change management, stakeholder engagement, and end-user training.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$80,277 (TA-7)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Technical Skills:
- Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and supporting VoIP infrastructure hardware and software.
- Experience in or knowledge of managing and supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
- In-depth knowledge of network topologies and protocols, including LAN/WAN, routing & switching, and cabling.
- Experience with K–12 telecommunication laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with 911 requirements and applicable federal and state communication standards.
- Experience with virtualization, certificate management, and data center environments is a plus.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct needs assessments to evaluate current workflows, processes, and system utilization across academic and operational functions.
- Collaborate with district leaders, campus administrators, department heads, and other stakeholders to identify, define, and document functional and technical requirements.
- Partner with technical teams to translate business and educational needs into functional specifications for system enhancements, integrations, and implementations.
- Participate in evaluating and recommending technology tools and applications that support district initiatives.
- Define and coordinate data integration requirements from multiple district systems, including SIS, LMS, ERP, HR, finance, and transportation.
- Assist with the design and implementation of processes to ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate solutions and gather feedback for enhancements.
- Support data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with FERPA, state requirements, and district data privacy standards.
- Document workflows, requirements, procedures, and system configurations for internal use and training purposes.
- Provide user support, training, and change management assistance during system rollouts or updates.
- Collaborate with project managers to maintain alignment with project timelines, budgets, and district strategic objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage and motivate the various team(s) with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistenetly deliver quality client services by monitoring progress.
