Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work on complex technical or specialty area problems reflecting sound judgment and analysis.
- Develop front-end user interfaces for new STAR web applications using Java/JavaScript/Angular/CSS/HTML framework and maintain existing STAR software.
- Work semi independently, in tandem with back-end developers and as part of a team, all with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- As typically acquired/evidenced by pertinent baccalaureate educational degree in Computer Science and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for software development; possession of the following competencies in technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills:
- Functional knowledge of higher education student registration software, as well as scheduling software development demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, hardware and software associated with student registration software and scheduling software development.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
- Knowledge in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, jQuery and AJAX.
- Knowledge of version control tools such as CVS, SVN or GIT.
- Knowledge in modem IDEs
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Knowledge in Web Video production using DaVinci Resolve.
- Functional knowledge in GUI design and Tomcat.
- Functional knowledge of open source frameworks (Angular).
- Functional knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite After Effects and Photoshop.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of creating documentation for AI chatbots.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate of science educational degree in Computer Science.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, hardware and software associated with STAR software development.
- Functional knowledge of STAR GPS, Direct Admit and Balance software development demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology.
- Working knowledge of all STAR software; including, but not limited to Direct Admit, Balance, Academic Logic, Scholarship Set Up & Access, Userve, Giving Tree and STAR GPS.
- Entry level functional knowledge in SQL programming & debugging of STAR software.
