Position Summary:

  • Coordinating Labor Relations functions for hourly employees across all facilities.

This is a 6-12 month contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encouraging an effective, inclusive work environment / culture and relationships, balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company goals and values.
  • Analyze data to proactively identify and diagnose business needs and develop solutions to meet the needs ensuring alignment with business strategies and objectives.
  • Posting and filling open union positions per the collective agreement across facilities and updating site seniority lists accordingly for the entire Site.
  • Lead weekly meetings with management and team leaders regarding site manpower issues weekly.
  • Updating site seniority lists accordingly.
  • Identify current and future workforce planning needs.
  • Building strong relationships with Operations partners, Union representatives, HR colleagues and specialists, and other business partners to jointly deliver strategic objectives and resolve issues.
  • Handling personnel relations activities and health and safety activities as required.
  • Interpreting data and use technology to proactively identify and diagnose business needs / opportunities and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Tracking and reporting on labor planning data and strategies to support our customer.
  • Coordinating /Scheduling training with Compliance Training and Development Lead to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly labor schedules to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
  • Adjust schedules as necessary to meet production demands.
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding and training of the new labor personnel per the collective agreement across facilities.
  • Supervise bottling production line operations (days or afternoons) in absence of Production Supervisor. While covering, must ensure safety, quality, and line efficiency follows Tier1, Tier2 and Tier 2 Improve process flows.
  • Schedule / Coordinate all Technician tasks for In Line PM’s, working collaboratively with Maintenance department for safe and efficient tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or other related field of study required.
  • 1+ years Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience dealing directly with employees and management.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
  • 1+ years working with unions in a manufacturing environment with daily interactions with union staff, hourly employees, and leadership.
  • Previous union contract negotiations experience preferred.
  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, negotiation, persuasion, and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with multitasking experience within a fluid, vibrant environment, including ability to manage time and resources.
  • Project management, change management and/or organizational development.
  • Demonstrated conflict management skills and experience with delivering HR process improvement actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work closely and successfully with others in order to deliver results.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignment/projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
