At Franciscan Health, the Lead Polysomnograph Technologist will be a clinician that staff see as a resource for providing evidence-based practice in their clinical site. Amongst other responsibilities, the Lead Technologist is responsible for supporting clinical staff in determining clinical needs for each patient. The Lead Technologist will have local responsibilities, as determined by management, and will assist with the coordination of department procedures/processes and interactions with all other departments and outside referral sources.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Perform local responsibilities: monitoring productivity, overseeing technicians, coordinating the inventory and supply needs, ensuring completion of daily work assignments and last-minute changes to these, and tracking of outcomes data and volumes.

  • Coordinate and draft employee shift schedules, ensuring adequate staffing coverage is available at all times.

  • Conduct regular periodic equipment maintenance assessments.

  • Perform polysomnographic (PSG) procedures on patients, monitors, and record key health indicators during sleep studies.

  • Inform and provide periodic reports to management and affected departments on the current status of patient care delivery.

  • Review physicians' orders and patients' histories in order to appropriately direct patient care.

  • Act as subject matter expert on key IT structure, including but not limited to, server functionality.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Professional/Vocational/Trade Training
  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • Required 3 years Sleep Medicine Required
  • Required Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
  • Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Preferred Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
  • Preferred Associate's Degree
