The AP Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable process, with a focus on managing the relationship and performance of an outsourced service provider. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement through a robust governance framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Manage the outsourced AP provider to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, payments, and issue resolution.
- Monitor service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and the outsourcing partner.
Establish and maintain a formal governance structure including:
- Regular operational reviews (weekly/monthly) to assess performance and address issues.
- Quarterly strategic reviews to evaluate service delivery, innovation, and alignment with business goals.
- Escalation protocols for resolving service disruptions or compliance concerns.
- Change management processes for system updates, policy changes, or scope adjustments.
Financial Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requirements.
- Oversee AP reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with the outsourcing provider.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with internal departments (e.g., Procurement, Treasury, Finance, Business team) to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership on AP performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of AP experience, with 3+ years in leadership.
- Strong understanding of AP processes, ERP systems and governance frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and drive performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
