Position Description

As a Refrigeration Helper, you will work alongside experienced Refrigeration Technicians to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of the refrigeration trade through hands-on experience and on-the-job training. You will support technicians in system installations, help organize and maintain tools and equipment, and develop your technical skills in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of refrigeration systems under the supervision of a technician.

  • Help organize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials.

  • Learn to read basic blueprints and follow technical instructions.

  • Conduct basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning equipment and checking connections.

  • Support copper line set preparation and installation under supervision.

  • Perform basic system testing and vacuum procedures as directed.

  • Assist with refrigeration equipment setup and positioning.

  • Assist in basic troubleshooting of refrigeration systems.

  • Learn to handle refrigerants safely under direct supervision.

  • Transport tools and materials to and from job sites.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.

  • Document work performed and materials used as directed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Refrigeration Technician or supervisor.

Requirements

  • Punctual and regular attendance.

  • Ability to work on a team and interact with people in a professional manner.

  • Must be able to work 40 hours every week and overtime as needed.

  • Willingness to learn refrigeration trade fundamentals.

  • Must have the ability to travel to job sites and occasionally have overnight stays.

  • Any other duties assigned by the Refrigeration Technician or supervisor.

  • Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test in accordance with our Company Substance Abuse Policy.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment fitness test.
