Primary Purpose of Role

 

Drive and assist, Assistant Safety Manager in developing and driving occupational health and safety programme of plant to ensure a proactive approach to continuous improvement in the areas of Occupational health and safety and loss prevention.

  • Recognize, meet, and exceed all legal and customer expectations.
  • Conduct and maintain and drive human elements of loss prevention system.
  • Collaborate with a variety of departments and establish expectations to foster a safety culture.

Roles and Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
  • Developing measures to assure personnel safety.
  • Drive actions of Leading indicators.
  • Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics
  • Preparation and implementation of Site Safety Improvement Plan (SSIP).
  • Drive consultation & communication for contractor and agency workers.
  • Partner and drive Mock drills.
  • Conduct investigations of all high potential incidents.
  • Partner with functions for conducting job hazard analysis, Risk assessments and enforcing preventative measures.
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Establish and implement safety standards and policies as needed.
  • Develop documentation as per Key Elements of Safety.
  • Carry out Permit To Work Monitoring and review.
  • Work alongside our Safety Manager to prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies.  
  • Manage PPE inventory as per safety budget.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Candidates seeking this post must have 2 to 3 years of experience and be familiar with the Safety Management System, FM Global requirements, and DuPont Safety approach.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in the design, implementation, and ongoing development of safety management systems, such as lock-out/tag-out, restricted space entrance, powered industrial vehicles electrical safety procedures, fall prevention programme, and so on.
  • Excellent command of Gujarati and English.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

Professional/ Technical Competencies

 

  • Effective Communicator – Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
  • Organization – must possess the ability to organize and manage the implementation of multiple worklists
