Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to maintain and optimize the local and cloud-based infrastructure that powers our optical manufacturing operations. This hands-on role combines technical problem-solving, network and systems management, and coordination with external IT partners to keep production running smoothly. 

Responsibilities

• Manage and secure LAN/WAN infrastructure, VLANs, switches, and firewalls. 
• Administer servers (on-prem and cloud), backups, and endpoint protection.
• Perform hands-on hardware maintenance (printers, scanners, drives, cables).
• Oversee cybersecurity practices, firewall rules, and VPN access.
• Coordinate with outside IT and network service providers.
• Maintain IT documentation, SOPs, and disaster recovery plans.
• Provide on-site support and train employees on system best practices.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in IT or network systems administration, ideally in a manufacturing or small/mid-sized business setting.
• Experience configuring and managing firewalls (SonicWall, Fortinet, or similar).
• Strong networking knowledge (VLANs, IP subnetting, switching).
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Hands-on comfort with hardware setup, maintenance, and repair.
