Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Covent Garden, London - Hybrid working with roughly 2/3 days per month in the office.

As a Data Analyst you will work in collaboration with internal stakeholders to provide data expertise and insight that builds understanding of the data supporting BSI’s content, products and services. The role will also work closely with Operations, Product, CR, Finance & Data Engineering teams to increase efficiency and identify automation opportunities.

In this role you will support requests from internal and external partners that demand the delivery of new or enhanced data sets or the creation of reports. The Data Analyst will work both independently and as the SME on project teams to analyse the impacts of new data requests, and will work closely with the operational, commercial and technology teams to ensure the successful delivery of data to meet requirements.

This role sits in a skilled team that engages, facilitates and recommends the steps needed to progress new or enhanced content and data into our commercial portfolio and balances the cost of delivery with our vision of providing high-quality, timely content supported by scalable and flexible work processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain data accuracy across operational systems.
  • Develop and enforce data governance standards.
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Analyse current operational processes.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Use data to support change initiatives and measure impact.
  • Create dashboards and reports to track KPIs.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Support strategic decision-making with data-driven analysis.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT, operations, and business units.
  • Act as a bridge between data teams and operational teams.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Deliver timely, high-quality analysis work to support successful outcomes for assigned projects
  • Identify and utilise appropriate techniques (eg data visualisation) to report findings of analysis work in a meaningful way to stakeholders
  • Contribute to BSI’s governance policies and ensure changes made to content metadata adhere to the policies
  • Analyse processes and provide recommendations for enhancements to systems to improve efficiency and the quality of commercially valuable data
  • Identify and provide recommendations for opportunities to leverage tools to support data analysis

To be successful in the role, you will have

  • Previous experience within a Data/Business Analyst position.
  • Hands on experience with SQL, Power BI, Excel and Tableau.
  • Experience dealing with data migrations and data checks.
  • Understanding of data governance and quality frameworks.
  • Experience with SAP and Crystal are beneficial.
  • Ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data visualization experience required.
