About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Accounting Clerk to support our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes in a fast-moving, warehouse-based environment.
This role is essential to keeping SecondShop’s financial operations running smoothly — ensuring invoices are entered accurately, vendors are paid on time, and customer payments are properly tracked and reconciled. You’ll work closely with our sales, operations, and supply chain teams on-site at our Ontario warehouse, serving as the go-to contact for daily financial and reconciliation needs.
If you’re detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to build a career in accounting within a high-growth environment, this role offers a strong foundation and clear growth potential.
What You’ll Do
- Process vendor invoices into Business Central, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile purchase orders with vendors and internal teams, resolving discrepancies quickly.
- Run AP reports and manage regular communication with vendors regarding payment status.
- Apply customer payments and update customer ledgers for returns and refunds (10–15 daily).
- Follow up on collections for outstanding balances in a professional, customer-focused manner.
- Monitor and manage the accounting inbox, responding to 15+ daily emails and action items.
- Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and supply teams to address on-site invoice issues.
- Support the Finance Manager with ongoing reconciliations, month-end tasks, and process improvements.
About You
You’re methodical, accurate, and enjoy bringing order to complex processes. You take pride in getting the details right and keeping systems clean and up to date. You’re comfortable working independently but thrive in a collaborative, face-to-face environment where your reliability makes a real impact.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable roles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (or similar ERP systems).
- Strong Excel and data entry accuracy skills.
- Exposure to logistics, warehousing, or other inventory-driven businesses is an asset.
- Accounting diploma or equivalent experience (e.g. 2-year diploma + 1 year experience, or 2+ years experience without post-secondary).
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism in dealing with vendors and customers.
- Initiative to go beyond the task list and suggest improvements once you’ve mastered the basics.
Why You’ll Love It Here
At SecondShop, we’re redefining how scratch-and-dent and overstock products find new homes. You’ll be part of a company that values integrity, ownership, and efficiency — where every role has a visible impact on how the business runs.
You’ll work closely with a supportive Finance Manager and warehouse team that values reliability, teamwork, and growth. Whether you’re a recent graduate or an experienced workhorse looking for stability and purpose, you’ll find both here.
