Convergence Health is hiring for a full-time Materials Manager/Supply chain. 

The Supply Chain/ Materials Manager is responsible for all aspects of materials management, including inventory management, ordering, shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of all supplies, instruments, equipment, and medications used in the facilities. The Materials Manager is responsible for assuring that all surgical instrumentation and equipment is kept in good repair; maintaining adequate inventory of all supplies; cost control/ fiscal responsibility related to purchases; and assisting in establishing and maintaining uniformity and accuracy of patient charges based on costs and established markups. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the facility or health care organization. 
  • Establish, inventory, and maintain adequate par levels of materials for services. 
  • Utilize and maintain the inventory supply system ensuring that it operates in a fiscally sound manner and accounts for supplies and implants from acquisition to disposition.  
  • Monitor, rotate, and remove all outdated and overstocked materials and verify that supply      par levels are adjusted accordingly. 
  • Notify relevant supervisory and accounting personnel of all supplies that are removed from the par level. 
  • Validates the IMS inventory counts through manual spot checks/counts of on-hand inventory weekly, monthly, quarterly as needed.  
  • Monitor oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen tank levels and order replacement tanks as needed. 
  • Review the surgical schedule in advance to verify that supplies and equipment are available when needed. 
  • Collaborates with providers and team members to ensure specialty supplies (for example: implants, tissue, specialty instrumentation) are ordered and available for procedures in a timely manner. 
  • Collaborates with providers and suppliers (McKesson or other) to source required equipment/supplies not routinely used in the facility. If the desired equipment is not available, work with suppliers and the provider to source appropriate alternate equipment and supplies.  
  • Verifies contract pricing
  • Verify that complete patient, perioperative, and equipment asset information is recorded accurately for processing daily charges, issues, and credits. 
  • Assist with goal setting and financial management of supply costs, including assistance with development of and adherence to the health care organization budget, contract compliance, and negotiating pricing for materials and equipment. 
  • Provide a high level of service for all customers (eg, physicians, health care industry representatives [HCIRs], perioperative personnel) and prompt responses for emergently needed (STAT) equipment, supplies, and instruments. 
  • Monitor and manage HCIR access to the facility. Coordinate HCIR product in-service programs. 
  • Monitor telephone and fax requests to verify accurate ordering and patient charging. 
  • Maintain records of purchase orders, requisitions, and product literature. 
  • Coordinate loans and returns of perioperative services equipment and other materials. 
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding backorders and anticipated release dates for materials to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Implement cost-containment practices by advocating for judicious use of materials, capturing patient charges accurately and completely, and reconciling invoice exceptions in a timely manner. 
  • Compile reports for data analysis and quality improvement projects relative to materials management. 
  • Serve as a resource for personnel in matters such as purchasing procedures, product information, and contract compliance. 
  • Notify risk manager of product recalls. 
  • Pursue  professional growth and participate in a professional organization. 
  • Maintain privacy  and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
