Job Description
Experience
- 5 years of experience in healthcare, medical staff services or performance improvement

Education
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with 5 years of experience in medical staff services or performance improvement or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Certification Summary
- Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM), Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), Lean Six Sigma Certification or Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ); or seeking certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of the credentialing, re-credentialing, and peer review processes
- Ability to review and analyze data
- Knowledge of Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory standards
Job Responsibilities
- Maintains current inventory of practitioner performance data systems and sources.
- Collaborates with professional staff leadership to identify current, relevant, specialty-specific practice indicators and conducts routine review and revision to ensure indicators remain current and relevant.
- Works with system departments to identify hospital performance measures relevant to practitioners with clinical privileges and ensures data collection and reporting process is fair and efficient.
- Works in partnership with Credentialing Services as relates to a practitioner’s focused professional practice evaluation and ensures appropriate reports are compiled and reviewed.
- Catalogs competency measures into reporting format minimally on an annual basis for all practitioners with clinical privileges and ensures compiled data can be attributed to the specific practitioner being evaluated.
- Identifies trends following comprehensive analyses of information provided and researched.
- Maintains confidentiality and integrity of physician performance files.
- Monitors and ensures compliance of the performance tool with appropriate regulatory agencies and organizational standards.
- Advises manager of workflow issues.
- Provides support to manager as required to ensure continuity of services provided by Medical Staff Services.
- Provides expertise and information concerning professional staff evaluation theory, practices, and policies to both internal and external contacts.
- Participates in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
