Description

Position Summary: The Spa Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the spa, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow, and delivering outstanding customer service. This role involves supervising staff, supervising spa activities, addressing client concerns, and ensuring adherence to spa policies and procedures. The Spa Supervisors key responsibilities are to lead, motivate, and support spa staff, including therapists, estheticians, and receptionists. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide training and development opportunities, and address any staffing issues. Ensure a high standard of customer service by addressing client inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally. Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvements as needed. Oversee daily spa operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and organization. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and spa protocols. Handle appointment bookings, handle cash and payment processing, and maintain accurate records of spa transactions and activities. Monitor and evaluate the quality of spa treatments and services to ensure they meet the spa’s standards. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment.

License(s): First Aid and CPR certified, Current state of California Massage Therapy, Cosmetology, Esthetician or Nail Technician License strongly appreciated but not required.

Education/Training: High School Diploma required, some college appreciated, Supervisory experience preferred.

Experience:

1-2 years hospitality experience preferred

1-2 years housekeeping preferred

1-2 years retail experience preferred

Merchandising experience preferred

Inventory experience a must

Resort/Spa experience, a plus

Experience with POS software, a plus

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Be an ambassador for the department and the company

Act as a representative for the spa services team when necessary, i.e. attending Senior Leadership Morning meetings, etc.

Add value to the services we provide

Develop and nurture a relationship with current providers, vendors and trainers

Maintaining inventory and managing stock levels in all treatment buildings

Maintain a high level of knowledge of the resort and services

Continuously train and role play with staff

Weekly Update and recap to Director of Spa on department items

Weekly Updates and recap to Director of Spa, Spa Manager and Salon and Retail Manager

Selection and purchasing of all retail and professional inventory for the Salon

Merchandising in the Treatment Buildings

Motivation of staff and management of staff incentives

Sales Goals- daily, weekly, monthly, annual

Area walks for stock and cleanliness

Communication to staff any and all pertinent information

Participate in the Quarterly department meetings

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

Heighten policies, procedures and expectations in spa services

Assist with the communication to and from the Salon Employees

Responsible for Esthetician and Salon Coordinator training, product knowledge, sales floor training, and hands on training when needed

Oversee and assist in organizing, pop up sales events, and retail skincare events

Assist with the closing of post service sales

Enforce company and departmental standards and expectations

Guest returns that occur in the Massage or Salon

Delivers on the esthetic vision of the owners and operators in the treatment buildings

Work in the Salon and Massage buildings guiding and training staff

Assist in staff training in product knowledge, brand identity, general Resort information and Sales techniques

Support and nurture employees in developing their skills

Create and develop programs/ideas to promote stronger emotional connections with our guests

Supervise and motivate the team to meet/exceed daily, weekly and monthly sales goals for Spa Concierge Team

Maintain knowledge of current trends in the skin care/ nail care/resort/wellness industries and share with the team

Assist in ensuring that the Spa Services Department employees attend required meetings: sales, safety, monthly dept., and participate others as needed

Assist in the interview process; interview potential staff and complete necessary paperwork to fill open positions

Address inter-department compliance issues, with the assistance of department managers

Assist in overseeing physical inventories and regular cycle counts

Work with Warehouse and Purchasing Coordinator to ensure all products are ordered, received, properly priced/coded and have a sensor prior to reaching the sales floor

Assist with sales support for high traffic days and related holidays i.e. Christmas, summer and special events/promotions

Work closely with vendor partners and ensure the dynamic of the relationship remains strong

Assist with internal training

Ensure staff is able to take proper lunch breaks and provide coverage as needed for Breaks

Adjust and maintain the schedules of employees

He or she will assist to optimize daily spa service scheduling utilization to increase the profitability of spa services

Collaborate with all Departments

Assist in other Spa Service departments and work closely with all leaders

Respond to guest concerns in a professional and compassionate manner

Uphold company service standards at all times; assist with corrective actions

Monitor and report guest count throughout the day and recommend/adjust staffing levels as needed Manage all promotions and contests once promotions have been presented and approved. Track and report on promotions. Report contest results to vendor partners and leadership.

Approve/deny employee time off based on business needs.

The Spa Supervisor will assure that schedules are accurate, and that resources utilization is extremely efficient

Lead or participate in the morning kick-off meeting. Prepare staff for the day ahead in a manner that is positive and that encourages camaraderie and a build a cohesive team environment

Performs Room checks and documents violations

Create, edit and update Glen Ivy Way documents

Participate in the interview process by receiving practical services and evaluating skill sets.
