Job description

Summary
Serves as coordinator of the end to end material release process for incoming materials required to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring the status of raw material, WIP and FG to support production, packaging and shipments. From receipt through inspection and release to manufacturing/shipment.
Support the Planning department in administrative tasks related to the Batch records and ongoing manufacturing/packaging requirements. In addition, this position will also take responsibility to process NAIE Lugano Switzerland and the NAI Carnosyn purchase order requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Act as a liaison between Planning and other departments: Purchasing, Production, QA, QC, R&D, Client Services.
• Follow the flow of material and provides input as to impact on production’s schedule to ensure that all material deliveries/manufacturing satisfy the assigned batch records and report/follow up with Purchasing and Operations any back ordered or missing products.
• Anticipates potential issues and collaborates with buyers/planners to expedite and eliminate material constraints.
• Generates/review/modify/print/release production batch records in accordance with SOP and per planner’s request.
• Assist QA to confirm acceptability of incoming material expiration dates that do not meet NAI SOP.
• Reviews monthly material expiration report for existing inventory to determine if material can be used elsewhere before expiration and requests material extension if applicable.
• Reviews with Planners the monthly production tails to determine what needs to be scrapped.
• Review NAIE POs, enter demands for raw materials, then tracks materials from receipt through shipment and delivery to NAIE. Coordinate with the Warehouse to ensure shipments date support productions requirements.
• Tracks and assists in follow up QC and QA regarding past due and forthcoming RM/WIP/FG lab test releases as needed to ensure no impact to production’s schedules.
• Prints reports as requested.
• Tracks performance metrics as requested.
• Participates in daily/weekly meetings and report material availability situations.
• Provides updates and information needed for business calls and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned or identified.
• Look for ways to improve processes; provide recommendations for process improvements across departments that support Department’s goals for customer service, quality, reduction in cost and innovation.
Qualifications
• High School diploma required. Bachelor degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of work-related experience in Supply Chain, Quality or Manufacturing with emphasis in Production Planning/ Scheduling, Materials Analysis, and Inventory Control is preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with BaaN IV or other ERP systems.
• General understanding of how Bill of Materials (BOM) is established and managed through the product life cycle.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices preferred.
• Excellent computer and data management skills to include MS Word, Excel.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be flexible, detail-oriented, good organization skills and able to meet deadlines, multi-task, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Limited supervision and minimal instructions needed on routine work.
• APICS courses and/or certifications a plus.
Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to sit and stand.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
• Lifting requirement: Up to 30 pounds
Work Environment
• Computer workstation and climate-controlled office environment.
• May occasionally enter production areas where personal protective equipment might be required to prevent or lessen exposure to airborne-borne powdered nutritional supplement substances.
