PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Provide psycho-educational consultation to regular and special education teachers, administrators, support personnel, and parents/families. Continuous attention is given to assisting multi-disciplinary teams at the building level to design, develop, and implement interventions for students with challenging behavior problems. Responsible for conducting and interpreting social-emotional evaluations (including FBA's, observations, BIP's, etc.) for educational planning and placement decisions. Facilitate communication and service provisions between all school personnel, students/families, and community-based agencies and other healthcare providers. Participate as a member of building level multi-disciplinary teams; provide direct student support; and provide in-service trainings and consultations. Administer, score, and interpret cognitive, achievement, and psychological tests as needed.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Advanced/Masters degree (doctorate preferred) in School Psychology or related field. Missouri K-12 School Psychologist Certificate required; Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) certification preferred. Minimum of three years in the field of psychological development (preferrably school psychology). Must possess good people skills, fleixbility, the ability to work under pressure, stay on task, be responsible, reliable, self-starter, and have the ability to adjust to change. Must have knowledge of the special education process and laws. Must have knowledge of the eligibility for special programs as appropriate for grade level. Must have excellent organization skills, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills. Must have knowledge of computers and assistive technology. Awareness of Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS) initiative preferred. Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
