Quality Specialist
Summary:
The Quality Specialist ensures daily quality standards are met across all molding presses by inspecting in-process materials and final products. This role supports Quality Control personnel, inspects incoming raw materials, and is responsible for releasing finished molded parts that meet company and customer specifications.
*Please note that this position will require some night and weekend shifts after initial training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of molded parts at the press to verify adherence to dimensional, visual, and functional standards
- Support QC personnel with in-process checks and quality documentation
- Inspect and verify the quality of incoming raw materials (e.g., resin, packaging)
- Approve and release finished plastic parts for shipment or further processing
- Use quality management software (e.g., IQMS, ERP) to document inspections and track nonconformances
- Report quality issues promptly and collaborate with production and engineering teams on corrective actions
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Maintain and update quality procedures, check sheets, and inspection records
- Participate in internal audits and support compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives within the molding operation
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) technician in a manufacturing environment
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Background in packaging and inspection of molded products is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and quality/production software (e.g., IQMS, ERP systems)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to interpret part drawings, specifications, and use basic measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
