DESCRIPTION

The Blender is responsible for mixing raw materials to create finished products according to batch tickets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sets up and starts all mixing tanks and blenders
• Obtains and understands all documentation for making batches.  Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch
• Pumping and pouring chemicals into blend tanks in predetermined quantities
• Operates equipment safely (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.)
• Ensures all raw materials returned to inventory have the right quantity and information on containers and containers are in good condition
• Follows lab instructions regarding batch approval, adjustments, and any additional requirements
• Cleans equipment when needed
• Refers issues/problems to Supervisor
• Communicates with Treaters, Delivery Drivers, Account Representatives, and Account Managers when batches are ready to go out
• Completes all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner
• Observes safety requirements set forth by the organization

Qualifications

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product recipes, material identification, etc.
• Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and the ability to perform these operations using weight and volume measurements
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Beginner MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) and PC Skills
• Must be a self-starter
• Needs little direction to complete tasks; can dictate degree of direction needed to complete tasks
• Knowledge of Aegis chemical offerings and specific blend formulas

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• 2 years’ minimum previous experience blending chemicals in the production chemical industry
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid forklift certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. at any given time, greater than 50% of the time.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift
• Able to manipulate and roll 55-gallon drums of chemicals (500 lbs)
• Daily physical demands of the position include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, agility, reaching, trunk movements, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
