As a Library Technician, you’ll provide exceptional customer service, assist with circulation duties, and support the delivery of innovative programs and services that meet the diverse needs of our patrons. Position Duties
Perform circulation duties including checking library materials in and out, registering new library accounts, updating existing accounts, and explaining and collecting fines and fees Assist customers with locating materials through author, title, and subject searches, and place requests for unavailable items Answer phone inquiries, provide general information, and refer customers to the appropriate department as needed Promote library services, resources, and programs to enhance community engagement and participation Monitor and process the daily loans/pages list to ensure customer access to requested materials Maintain the magazine and newspaper inventory by processing, updating databases, and distributing materials appropriately Support collection maintenance by performing light repairs, cleaning discs, replacing damaged cases, and updating call numbers per Technical Services direction Process new materials, report cataloging or processing errors, and assist with purchase requests and supply orders Organize and maintain hold shelves, conduct regular shelf reading, and ensure materials are properly shelved and accessible Create attractive displays to promote library materials and assist with pulling and processing items for weeding and library sales
Minimum Qualifications

- Knowledge of library policies and procedures regarding card registration, public computer use, and fee assessments
- Knowledge of the library collection
- Knowledge of online public catalog
- Knowledge on the use of photocopiers, fax, and change machines, public computer reservation software, room reservation software and self-checkout machines
- Knowledge of current resources and content available on the library website.
- Ability to operate library automation system and the online public catalog
- Ability to maintain accurate statistics and prepare routine reports
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships with co-workers and the general public
Conditions of Employment:
