About The Role 

The Consumer Lending Support Specialist delivers exceptional service by assisting members with their financial needs, educating them on credit union products, and managing key aspects of the consumer loan process—including verifying loan details, conducting loan closings, and resolving member concerns. This role also serves as a liaison with branch locations, ensures strict confidentiality, complies with all relevant policies and regulations, and consistently reflects the credit union’s core values.

As a Consumer Lending Support Specialist, you'll gain hands-on experience in loan origination, client support, and cross-functional teamwork—building a strong foundation for future growth within the Consumer Lending team. 

What You’ll Do 

• Support loan underwriters and specialists by updating loan data, assembling and verifying consumer loan documentation, and performing loan closings.  
• Respond to member inquiries, investigate escalated concerns, and serve as the final point of contact for loan transactions.  
• Build rapport with members using active listening to identify needs and uncover cross-sell opportunities.  
• Monitor and coordinate title tracking, maintain accurate loan files, and track pending documentation.  
• Process various servicing functions related to consumer loans while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.  
• Promote confidentiality, professionalism, and teamwork while maintaining a positive image of the credit union. 

Is This You? 

• High school diploma, or equivalent, required; college degree preferred  
• One to two years lending experience, familiarity with mortgage or business lending desired  
• Service/sales experience desired  
• Ability to be bonded required  
• Ability to be registered under the SAFE Act required  
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities 
• Preferred But Not Required: College degree, retail banking experience, familiarity with Fiserv DNA, proficiency in MS Office
