Are you dependable, energetic, and love working with kids? The New Canaan YMCA is looking for awesome individuals to join our team!
We offer flexible scheduling and a variety of exciting opportunities where you can make a real impact — all while having fun.
We’re currently hiring for part-time roles as Program/Activities Assistants to teach and support a range of youth programs, including:
- Ski & Board Club Counselors - (No ski/board experience required — just bring your energy and enthusiasm!)
- Recreational Athletics - (all athletic/sports backgrounds welcome!)
- Gymnastics & Parkour
- Vacation Camps & Drop-in Activities - (lead games, crafts, and adventures during school breaks and weekends)
- On-Site Babysitting services

Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience working with children (preferably ages 5-12).
- Must be dependable and reliable for scheduled hours.
- Should possess great class management skills while being patient, kind, energetic, responsive, and engaging.
- Should have the ability to create and adapt activity plans for varying ages.
- Must exercise good judgement when teaching children’s activities and ensure that children are safe and accounted for in all program areas.
- Recognize any safety concerns regarding the use of the equipment and/or off-site venues where programming takes place.
- Must be able to work reliably and independently with a willingness to actively engage and give clear directions to parents and children.
- CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
