About the Role
Centurum is seeking a Technical Instructor/Course Developer to design and create instructional materials, such as lesson plans, presentations, hands-on exercises, and instructor and student guides, using tools like the Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) system.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct job task analyses (JTAs) to identify training needs and develop relevant, Navy-compliant course content.
- Develop interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs) that are compliant with industry standards like S1000D and Extensible Mark-up Language (XML).
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and program managers to ensure that training materials are accurate, effective, and up-to-date with current technology and industry standards.
- Deliver training to military and civilian personnel on the operation, maintenance, and sustainment of navy combat and weapons systems.
- Lead training sessions using various methods, including lectures, web-based courses, and hands-on laboratory exercises.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve learning objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and course metrics.
- Support IPS program management by collaborating with engineering, procurement, and other teams to align training initiatives with program goals.
- A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, preferably at a military training center.
- Proficient use of CPM, AIM, LOM, and Adobe Captivate for ICW curriculum development
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and multimedia tools.
- Navy instructor certifications, such as NEC 9502 or 805A.
- Experience with DOD Instructional Theory and Development to include working knowledge of NAVEDTRA 130 series instructions
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Compensation
$64,480 - $87,360 per year
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
