We are currently seeking a Full-Time School of Music Program Manager to lead our music lesson program across all store locations. This role is based at our Operations Center in Hanover, PA, with regular travel to our store locations throughout the region. About the Role
Our School of Music Program Manager is the driving force behind our thriving music lesson program. You'll build and support an exceptional team of music teachers, create engaging programs that inspire students, and ensure smooth operations across all locations. From running day-to-day program operations to planning exciting recitals and events, you'll play a key role in helping students discover the joy of making music. Your typical schedule will be full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for recitals and special events.
What You'll Do
Build a strong team of teachers
- Recruit, interview, and hire excellent music teachers across all instruments, building partnerships with colleges and music programs to find great talent
- Create strategies that keep teachers engaged, satisfied, and committed to our program
Manage operations & systems
- Oversee our Lesson Management Software and make sure things run smoothly behind the scenes for teachers, staff, and families
- Develop and communicate clear policies and procedures that ensure consistency across all locations
- Track program performance through data and reports, using insights to make smart decisions about how to improve
Create engaging student programs and partner with store teams
- Work with store teams to plan exciting activities, events, and performance opportunities that keep students motivated and engaged
- Monitor what's working and continuously improve our programming based on student feedback and participation
- Train Studio Coordinators on systems and best practices so they can support teachers and students effectively
- Visit each store location monthly to meet with staff, troubleshoot challenges, and provide hands-on support
Drive Strategic Growth
- Stay current on music education and lesson studio trends and bring fresh ideas to our program and analyze data to spot opportunities for growth
- Work with leadership to set long-term goals and make recommendations about where to invest and expand
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Music (or equivalent work experience)
- 2+ years of private music teaching experience
- Experience in program management, operations, or team leadership is a plus
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and keep track of important details
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Excellent communication skills – you'll work with teachers, students, parents, store staff, and leadership
- Problem-solving abilities and data analysis skills to make informed decisions
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with good time management
- Ability to build positive relationships, coach others, and bring out the best in people
- A systems thinker who can design and improve how programs operate
