The Rent Specialist is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of rent-related financial obligations in accordance with lease agreements. This role includes abstracting basic lease terms, maintaining vendor data, and assisting with rent payments. The Rent Specialist works closely with internal teams and external landlords to ensure compliance with lease terms and contributes to the overall efficiency of the rent administration process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Abstract and enter key financial clauses from lease documents into the lease management system with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ensure timely processing and delivery of rent payments, reports, and reconciliations for charges such as CAM and Real Estate Taxes

  • Support departmental performance by meeting deadlines and maintaining compliance with established metrics and procedures

  • Assist Senior Rent Specialists with complex lease transactions, reconciliations, and special projects as assigned

  • Participate in departmental initiatives including data clean-up, document imaging, and process improvement efforts

  • Provide general administrative support, including mail distribution and monthly preparation of rent checks for mailing

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred

  • Experience: Prior experience in Accounts Payable or rent-related functions required; 1–3 years of experience in a retail or lease administration environment preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with a solid understanding of basic lease language and financial terms

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative, service-oriented approach

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with standard office equipment such as scanners and copiers

  • Experience with ERP and lease management systems (e.g., SAP, Lucernex) preferred
