Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as the Dean of Academic Affairs in the General Education Division. This individual will serve under the supervision of the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Adult Education and will be responsible for the supervision of the programs in the division, meeting the objectives of Columbus Technical College (CTC) and promoting instructional programs to public and private entities. This position is full-time/exempt.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a reduced course load in area of expertise.
- Serve as college’s Professional Development Representative for TCSG.
- Serve as college’s AI Representative for TCSG.
- Serve as college’s General Education Representative for TCSG.
- Implement and oversees programmatic accreditation affecting general education programs
- Supervise academic personnel, programs and services.
- Ensure consistent exercise, review and revision of academic policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Promote the instructional program to public and private organizations.
- Collaborate with Human Resources personnel to coordinate new faculty and staff hires; verify appropriate faculty qualifications.
- Oversee accreditation attainment and continuance activities.
- Recommend curriculum changes, program additions and program terminations in the applicable academic division to the supervisor.
- Review quarterly course evaluations by students.
- Review staff development plans of division faculty and staff.
- Review and approves all requests for supplies and materials, including all curriculum materials for the program.
- Oversee enrollment and registration processes.
- Address and resolve student complaints and issues.
- Manage overseas financial/budget operation of the department.
- Ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures.
- Develop and recommend policies and procedures to support program goals.
- Conduct regular evaluation of faculty services provided and adjust as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education.
- Expertise in program assessment and strategic planning strategies.
- Proficiency in budget development and management principles.
- Familiarity of state and local academic program curricula.
- Knowledge of academic course standards and general education accreditations.
- Master’s degree in a related field *and* Three (3) years of related work experience
Salary/Benefits
