We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Engineering Lab Specialist to support our engineering test lab operations. This role will be responsible for setting up, executing, and documenting valve-related tests in support of the engineering group. This role requires senior-level technical expertise, initiative, and collaboration across engineering teams with acute attention to detail. Machining experience is a plus but not required.

Expectations

To excel in the role you will:

  • Set up and run valve-related tests, including pressure, flow, endurance, and environmental testing.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and refine test procedures and fixtures.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and instrumentation.
  • Document test setups, procedures, results, and observations with high accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot test setups and provide technical feedback to engineering teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in lab operations and safety.
  • Assist in training junior lab personnel and interns as needed.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics/ Mechatronics, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a test lab or engineering support role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with valves, actuators, or fluid systems.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test specifications.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Machining experience or familiarity with machine tools and measuring devices is a plus.
